Blue Yeti vs. Blue Yeti Nano

Recording Quality

The recording quality of this microphone is top-of-the-line. When you’re going for a mic that can pick up the small details of your voice without distorting it in a way that makes you sound more robotic than human, then you might want to give this microphone a try. Now, if you are going for more robotic sound, you know, auto-tune adjacent, then, by all means, pick up the new software for the Auto-Tune. The last thing you would want to do is buy a bad microphone that doesn’t share the quality of your voice.

Basically, you can look at it in two ways when trying to find a new microphone. Do you want a microphone to record your voice and be realistic, or are you just looking to record and don’t care what it sounds like? It may just be me, but I never heard of an artist who said: “I don’t care how it sounds I just want to record.”

USB Compatible

In today’s world, there’s nothing more efficient than a USB port. Damn near every laptop comes with a USB port and having a microphone that’s compatible with a USB is like finding a 4 leafed clover, sitting on top of a pot of gold, right next to the cure for all alignments. In other words, it’s pretty freaking awesome. Think about it, if you find a microphone that isn’t compatible with a USB, how are you going to use it with your equipment?

Now, don’t get me wrong, you could always go out and pay hundreds of dollars for amps, and other things that will make the microphone compatible with your device, but, when you really think about it, is that really the best option? I mean really, being able to record your music anywhere you go with a USB microphone and laptop is amazing. However, if you shell out all of that money for the amps, and other things, think about everything that you would have to carry with you just to be mobile when you want to record. As many artists will tell you, inspiration can happen anywhere, and you will want to be prepared for when it strikes you

Low Starting Price (Amazon)

One of the best aspects of the Blue Yeti microphone is its price. The price range of the microphone gives it an appeal to newer starting musicians or content makers. For only $99 on Amazon, the quality of this Mic can’t be beaten. The fact of the matter is, when you’re trying to look for a reliable microphone at a low price, there’s not much else you can do to get better than the Blue Yeti. If you need more proof (firstly, my feeling are hurt that you don’t trust me, but whatever), head over to (LINK). Here you can hear the quality of the mic in action and get a feel for how effective that it is.

Blue Yeti vs. Blue Yeti Nano

The similarities from the Blue Yeti and the Nano are outstanding. They are both hardnosed devices that record your content with precision, and they are both USB compatible. The differences, though they are not extraordinary, are still meaningful. Starting with the BYN, you get a smaller device that still allows you to record with precision, and also allows for more movability when trying to record something on the road, or record while in motion. However, when you look at the Blue Yeti, you have a device that is not only a recorder but also an amplifier.

This feature is not offered on the Blue Yeti Nano, which to me is a reason why it’s not as valuable to beginners who are recording out of their homes or in loud places. So, if you’re trying to figure out which one to buy, just consider the situation that you’re recording in. If you’re recording in a loud environment, then you may want the Blue Yeti, or if you are moving around a lot and don’t have a ton of space, then you may want to consider the Blue Yeti Nano.
