Making Music Cost a lot of Money Misconception
Many people have a misconception when it comes to making music, and finding the right way to make it. That misconception is that making music cost a lot of money. Now, don’t get me wrong, for starters, yes, some artists spend thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of dollars on production costs, studio sessions, among other things that make their music sound good, but none of these things are necessary for you. Finding a place to record content is as simple as finding a quiet place to write content. With the technology released today, you will be able to eliminate the background noises, the echoes through your home, and any other distractions that pull away from the content that you were trying to release.
When you’re looking for the right equipment, there are a lot of options available to you. For starters, let’s start with a microphone. If you’re looking for a microphone that is very effective, then I would recommend the Blue Yeti USB microphone. These microphones are compatible with both Windows and Mac; they have voice control buttons on display to turn up the volume and the lower it, hell, they even have a mute button and an output jack for your headphones. Blue Yeti is a top-of-the-line microphone that will offer you stability and record your vocals in perfect pitch. On top of that, it’s not overly expensive. You can get a Blue Yeti Nano USB Mic on Amazon for the low.
However, the best compliment this microphone has (in my opinion) is the fact that it is USB compatible. With this compatibility, you will be able to record anywhere, and it’s a better situation for beginners because it does not require the use of a mixing board or mic preamp. Now, when you have your microphone, and you’re ready to record, the next step is to find a program that is the best for you in any situation.
Which brings us back to the age-old question; are you a Mac person or PC person?
I can hear the countless arguments going on through the computer screen. Well for all of my PC people out there, one of the best programs you can use, one that is used by many artists to this very day, is called Audacity.
Audacity offers a wide range of functions that will have your record sounding like it was produced by a professional. The only thing you will have to do is go to their website, download the free software, and from there, start making hits. I know that may be complicated for some of you out there, (for the love of… I really hope not) but if it is, then type in Audacity in Google and the website should come straight up with the links to download.
Now, for all of my Mac users, the best program that you can have for recording is called GarageBand.
Some of you Mac users may be fortunate enough to have the software already on your systems without really knowing it. If this is you, congratulations you may have the newer model computers (look who’s moving up in the world), but if you do not have it already there for you, then all you need to do is download the software from the apple store. The best thing about this program is, just like audacity, it’s free. However, GarageBand has more functionality than Audacity and will offer you the ability, but you can also produce your own tracks. With functions like the keyboard collection Hip Hop, voice, and app collection you have a wide range of things to play with and learn. So far everyone out there hoping to be the new Skrillex, or whatever other EDM musicians you listen to (not here to judge big fan of the genre myself), test out the new features, download the latest updates and enjoy.
Though let’s be honest, no matter what software you use, if you are a Mac or a PC user, if you are a producer or a vocalist, from here on out, you will be on your way to becoming a full-fledged musician.
